Schmidbauer-Film is a production company based in Prien am Chiemsee.

Together since 2003.

Schmidbauer-Film's current focus is on the development and production of feature films with a local touch.

The story begins on August 9, 2003, when siblings Andreas and Tanja Schmidbauer, aged 10 and 13 respectively, discovered their passion for filmmaking. Schmidbauer-Film GmbH & Co. KG has existed in its current legal form since 2020.

To promote the theatrical release of the Bavarian comedy "Hinterdupfing" (2014), which attracted nearly 50,000 viewers across Germany, Andreas and Tanja Schmidbauer founded the film distribution company Schmidbauer-Film. In addition to distributing their own productions, they have since also taken over the distribution and booking & billing for various documentaries and feature films.

OUR FOCUS

PRODUCTION

We are dedicated to Bavarian Heimatfilm (regional films), but we are not stigmatized by it. Nevertheless, a connection to our homeland and the use of dialect play a major role in the majority of our films – be it as part of the story or within the team.

DISTRBUTION

In German-speaking countries, we operate as a film distributor for feature films and documentaries. We also offer collaborations for theatrical distribution – for example, by handling the booking and billing for your film projects.
